I, for one, respect Kristi Noem, who doesn't let numbers scare her.
Seventy percent? Forty-five? That hardly matters! Math is terror.
A person here, a citizen there—c'mon, folks! That's a rounding error.
What we need is good hard facts, divorced from thought, divorced from stats.
That's her job, to get the facts: dragged from cars, or streets, or flats.
Let's be straight (yes—or else!), no more hedging, enough this and thats:
